We called it an early night as only two walkers joined me. It is important for us to try to get a minimum of four people out for a patrol.

On the way to 11th and Wharton we called in a car fire at 10th and Wharton across from the baseball field, as a game was going on several folks called the fire in as well. The Fire Department responded in less than 5 minutes. The car was only smoking when it was called in but 2 minutes before the truck pulled up the engine did burst into flames and some of the windows shattered, so there was a bit of stinky excitment, but no one was injured and the matter was dealt with in a very quick and professional manner.

After canceling the walk due to lack of participants we did wander by a fairly regular town drunk type on the SE corner of Wharton and 9th. We called it in to 911 and have faith that someone managed to get out to help him.

We hope that more folks can come out and enable us to walk on the 3rd Wednsday the 17th.
