In order to raise funds to help hire private street cleaners for the Passyunk Square neighborhood of South Philly, the Passyunk Square Civic Association has organized another self guided house tour.

Different from the usual house tour, this event provides a showcase of homes in all stages of renovation, gives a chance to compare contractors, get ideas, and meet neighbors.

Our tree planting this past weekend was a hit! We planted 39 trees all throughout the neighborhood. Huge thanks to all of the volunteers who came out, including a large group of our neighbors from Newbold and our friends from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

These trees will leave a lasting impact on our community for many years to come. Let’s enjoy them and take good care of them!

Our Tree Planting is TOMORROW!

When: Saturday November 15th, 10:30am until ~ 2pm

Where: NE Corner 13th and Reed Streets, at Christopher Columbus Park

Volunteers will meet at the park in the morning (coffee and donuts.) Eight teams of tree planters will then plant 39 trees throughout the Passyunk Square neighborhood.

The trees will be “BARE ROOT” that means that they will be much easier to plant, making it possible for smaller people to participate. No prior tree planting experience is necessary. Instruction and all necessary tools will be provided. Refreshments will be supplied for volunteers at or after 3 PM at the NE corner of 13th and Gerritt St (1/2 block south of Columbus Park.)
