On May 7, several volunteers from PSCA arrived at the doors of Urban Jungle ready to get to work. They had no idea what they were in for. A steady stream of customers came through the store from 10am to 2pm while Urban Jungle staff and volunteers from PSCA helped them pick out gifts for Mother’s Day, plants for their back yards and decks and other various accessories. By the time the crowds finally died down at 2pm, PSCA had raised $1650 which includes $1500 from the plants and $150 from the various PSCA branded items. We’d like to extend a very special thanks to the several volunteers who worked in shifts throughout the day and to Michele DiVeterano for coordinating the volunteers.

The PSCA annual spring plant sale has consistently been one of the organization’s most successful fund raisers over the past 6 years, and the PSCA continues to expand the day’s activities. All proceeds raised during the Plant Sale go to the PSCA general fund which supports priorities and activities determined by the PSCA, its members, and the active neighbors in the Passyunk Square neighborhood.
