Come for the parking meeting; stay for the zoning meeting!

Tomorrow at 7PM at the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center (NW Corner of East Passyunk Avenue and Dickinson Street), the Zoning Committee of the Passyunk Square Civic Association is scheduled to hear the following cases:

1. 1332-36 S. 9th Street: Requesting variance for auto repair on the first floor with 4 apartments on the 2nd floor. Also requesting pilot house and 4 roof decks for apartments. Refused by L&I for auto repair and 4 apartments in R10-A (single family dwelling) and for height of pilot house.

2. 538-44 Washington Avenue: Applicant is seeking permission for a roof deck, pilot house and 5 accessory signs in R10-A zoning district (single family).

The PSCA Zoning Committee meetings are opportunities for neighbors to hear the details of zoning applications within our civic association boundaries. The Zoning Committee does not make any final decisions on these zoning applications, but we do send letters to the Philadelphia Zoning Board Administration. Those letters outline the neighbors’ thoughts on the application and the Zoning Committee’s decision either to oppose or not oppose the proposal. Check out Passyunk.org for more information following the meeting about the results of the meeting and information about the ZBA hearing dates for these cases.
