The representative of 1422 S. 9th Street have requested to postpone their hearing before the PSCA Zoning Committee until the August meeting (8/9/11). Please note that the Zoning Board of Adjustment (1515 Arch St., 18th Floor) is currently scheduled to hear this case on July 20, 2011 at 5pm. The PSCA Zoning Committee will request a continuance but it you are interested in this case, you should still consider attending the ZBA hearing to make sure that this case is not heard before it comes before the PSCA Zoning Committee.

The revised agenda for tomorrow’s meeting is as follows:

1. 1131-37 Wharton: Having already presented at the May zoning committee meeting, the applicant will present again with revisions based on the issues discussed at the May meeting and changes made in consultation with neighbors of the project.

2. 1207-09 S. 7th: Applicant is seeking to demolish existing structure to make way for construction of two single family homes (one at 1207 and one at 1209). Project has been refused for insufficient open space and rear yard size and setback.

The PSCA Zoning Committee meetings are opportunities for neighbors to hear the details of zoning applications within our civic association boundaries. The Zoning Committee does not make any final decisions on these zoning applications, but we do send letters to the Philadelphia Zoning Board Administration. Those letters outline the neighbors’ thoughts on the application and the Zoning Committee’s decision either to oppose or not oppose the proposal. Check out Passyunk.org for more information following the meeting about how the board voted and information about the ZBA hearing dates for these cases.

Zoning Committee meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm at S.P.O.A.C.
