We have made sure to schedule this year’s tour for right after the Phillies post-season and it’s on a Saturday so no Eagles conflicts! We are also looking forward to the lovely, crisp fall weather for walking around the neighborhood and getting a full flavor of our wonderful community.

Showcase Your Home On The Tour!

If you or someone you know wants to be one of the homes on the Passyunk Square Civic Association Home Tour, now is the time! We are taking applications – but hurry, we have limited space.

If you run a business in the area we are counting on your generous support to help make the Tour possible. For $100, sponsors’ names and logos will appear on flyers and posters advertising the Home Tour. This is a great and inexpensive way to promote your business and support your community at the same time. If you live between 6th and Broad and between Washington and Tasker and are interested in volunteering your home for the Home Tour or in becoming a sponsor please email us at hometour@passyunk.org.

Beautification15 Oct 2011 11:30 pm

On Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30pm at the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center, Beautification Committee Chair Andrew Emma is convening a meeting of all those who are interested in playing a role in shaping the direction of the new Passyunk Gardens at East Passyunk and Wharton as well as several other nearby vacant parcels that the Passyunk Square Civic Association is trying to get access to.

At the General Meeting on October 6, Andrew explained how some of the goals of the new space include continuing the regular “harvest” events that have attracted nearly 200 people in the last two weeks alone; making the garden available for events (including one couple who is interested in having their wedding there on New Year’s Day); and generally opening the space up to more community involvement.

If you are interested in helping out with this garden and other beautification projects, contact Andrew at beautification (at) passyunk.org.
