Did you know that not a single building, structure, site, object, or interior in the PSCA neighborhood is listed in the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places? Listing in the Register protects the property from significant alteration and/or demolition. Such protection offers a way to preserve the character of the neighborhood. Because of this, PSCA is creating a “watch list” of properties we think are valuable to the neighborhood, and beginning a process to nominate some of these to the Register. Please send your ideas about what should be on this “watch list” to Karin Morris at planning@passyunk.org. Possible candidates include schools, churches, cemeteries, or sites with social significance, as the building itself does not need to be architecturally significant if something important occurred there.
