Art Show and Event03 Feb 2014 08:15 pm

On Friday, March 28th 2014, from 7 to 10 PM the Passyunk Square Civic Association will host the 3rd Annual P’unk Square Community Art Show and Auction. The event, which will be held at Annunciation BVM Church hall (10th and Dickinson) will include both an art auction and a raffle.

Artists are asked to donate one or more works of art to the 2014 PSCA Art Auction. All proceeds will go to the PSCA. Artists who donate works for the PSCA Art Auction will also have the opportunity to exhibit and sell additional works with a commission of 25% going to the PSCA. For each work “gifted” to the Auction an artist can enter a sale work; for two Auction works, two sale works and so on.

If you are interested in donating a piece for the event, please click here to submit your piece. All donations of Art to the PSCA are fully tax deductible and the PSCA will provide documentation of any donated art that sells at the auction.

Last year we had over 200 persons in attendance. This show and auction gives artists from our area significant exposure. In addition, this year artists are given the opportunity to sell their works to our guests. We hope to include you in this exciting event.

Just a reminder, the PSCA is a volunteer-led and self-funded non-profit, and we run on your donations of money and time! Every dollar raised will directly support weekly litter pick-up, tree planting and maintenance, education reform, neighborhood beautification and more!
Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to the Passyunk Square Civic Association to help us maintain our momentum. You can donate on our website, www.passyunksquare.org, or send us a check payable to Passyunk Square Civic Association, at P.O. Box 18052, Philadelphia, PA 19147. If your company or organization participates in the annual United Way Appeal, Passyunk Square Civic Association is a listed donor. Or, if your company offers a match program, we hope you will consider our organization. Whatever way you decide to contribute, we will put every dollar to good use here in our community. Your Donations Keep Us Running for You!!

In an effort to be inclusive of our Spanish speaking neighbors, the PSCA will now be translating our monthly newsletter into Spanish. Look for the translated newsletter monthly on our website!

Also, the PSCA is sponsoring basic ESL classes for non-English speakers. The classes will be held at the Columbus Square Recreation Center (12th and Wharton) on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm. The five week session will begin on February 11 and end on March 11. The $20 fee includes five weeks of classes and materials. Free supervised children’s programming will be offered for parent’s wishing to take classes who don’t have childcare options. A prize will be given to participants who attend at least four of the five classes. To ensure a seat, those interested should register in person at the Recreation Center before the first night of class. It will also be possible to register on the first night of class, space permitting. For more information in English or Spanish, those interested can call Chris DiCapua at (267) 467-4307.
