On Tuesday, May 13th at 7PM at Annunciation BVM Church Hall at 1511 S. 10th Street (Dickinson St Entrance) the Zoning Committee of the Passyunk Square Civic Association is scheduled to hear the following cases:

1148 Wharton Street:

Application for the construction of a non-accessory gym on a portion of the ground floor of a four story apartment building.  This application was refused because the proposed used is not permitted in an RSA-5 zoning district.

1203 S Clarion Street: 

Application for the construction of an attached 3 story single family residence with roof deck and pilot house.  This application was refused for non-compliance with rear yard setback and open area requirements.

1201 Latona Street:

Application for the construction of a roof deck on an existing single family residence.  This application was refused for non-compliance with maximum height requirements.


The PSCA Zoning Committee meetings are opportunities for neighbors to hear the details of zoning applications within our civic association boundaries. The Zoning Committee does not make final decisions on the applications, but it does send letters to the Philadelphia Zoning Board Administration. On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Annunciation BVM, the Passyunk Square Civic Association held its first annual election for Board of Directors. Fourteen candidates were vying for twelve director positions on the PSCA Board. Below are the results, certified by the independent PSCA Nominating Committee:
