CREED notice 2015_1Scenes for the movie “Creed” are filming in our neighborhood next week with the permission of the Philadelphia Film Office and the Philadelphia Police. Affected streets have received flyers, but we want to make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming parking restrictions.

The detailed parking restrictions are listed on the flyer linked here. The No Parking times will go into effect on Monday, February 16 at 6 pm and continue until Thursday, February 19 at 11 pm.

In recognition of this inconvenience, if you cannot find on-street parking elsewhere in the area, the film company has made arrangements for the lot on the northeast corner of Broad and Washington to be available. The entrance is on Washington Avenue just east of Broad Street. The lot is only available for use during the No Parking times stated above. After 11 pm on Thursday, February 19, the lot will be closed.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Locations Department at 267-507-9087. Thank you for your cooperation.

2013 Pop Up Garden Broad StreetDon’t miss the General Meeting this Tuesday, February 3 at 6:30 pm – this time we will meet at St. Maron Church Hall (1013 Ellsworth Street). Join us to hear from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) about a proposed pop-up garden in our neighborhood to run in the warmer months of 2015. Since 2011, each year PHS has created a unique public garden space on an underutilized lot. The projects were each custom designed to highlight the transformative power of horticulture and bring attention to the surrounding neighborhood. Hear about the vision for this temporary use of a space in our neighborhood and sites under consideration – including the lot at 9th and Wharton.
