The next South Philly Language Exchange OpenTable will be on October 22 at Plaza Garibaldi located at 935 Washington Ave. All Open Tables begin at 7pm! We hope to see you there.

Do you want to learn some Spanish? Would you like to meet Spanish-speaking neighbors and help them to learn English, while supporting a local Mexican restaurant and building community in Passyunk Square? The South Philly Language Exchange OpenTable is a monthly event that brings together English and Spanish speakers over dinner at local restaurants. This event is open to everyone and is informal and fun. If you come, you can order food or not, and you will be made to feel welcome!

The PSCA’s favorite pocket park, Gold Star Park, is raising funds for a big remodel.  They have a great night planned on October 8th with a party at the park (on Wharton St between 6th and 7th). There will be drinks, food, music, games for the kids and a silent auction with gift certificates to area restaurants and other goodies. Join us at this great event to support PSCA parks! Saturday, October 10 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm @ 1523 S 8th St (Termini Brother’s parking lot)

Make this year’s fall cleaning the greatest of them all by bringing your old electronics, household hazardous waste and sensitive documents for safe, responsible disposal all in one place!

This first-ever event brings together an electronics and household hazardous waste collection with a secure document shredding. Shredding will take place from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

We will be collecting the following items to keep them from heading to the landfill:

  • Laptops, radios, computers, cell phones, keyboards, printers. Paint/paint materials, household cleaning products, automotive products, flammable materials, fluorescent light tubes, household batteries.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept appliances, microwaves, vacuums, tube TVs or tube monitors or unmarked household hazardous materials.

Donations to fund more cleaning and greening events appreciated!

Please email trash@passyunk.org with questions.
