<p>Please join us for the 6th Annual “Not Just a Plant Sale” fund-raiser  on  Saturday, May 15th, at the South Philadelphia Older Adults Center  (SPOAC), at  10th and Dickinson Sts., between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The PSCA  will again bring a beautiful variety of plants and accessories  right from  the greenhouse to South Philly. The day will be full of fun for all  ages,  including a plant-pot painting station for the whole family and a wide  assortment of homemade treats from many of our neighbors. This event  will also  give the PSCA an opportunity to introduce the newly  contracted  LRC Services, who will serve to keep the Passyunk Square  neighborhood clean and beautiful. The PSCA will be  unveiling the  winner of their logo design competition at noon.</p>

Now that the snow has melted, errant litter is more visible  than ever. Let’s give our neighborhood a fresh start by sprucing it up!</p>
<p>Passyunk Square Civic Association will be coordinating several projects  during the day:<br />
-       General street sweeping, with a focus on high-traffic areas like  the 9th St business corridor<br />
-       Flower planting at Jackson school<br />
-       Tree bed maintenance at Capitolo Playground</p>
<p>In past years, we’ve removed hundreds of bags of litter from our  streets, and this year should be no exception. But we can’t do it  without you!Please RSVP today by emailing <a href="mailto:kalabno@gmail.com">kalabno@gmail.com</a>.   If you have access to a pickup truck or other large vehicle, we could  use your help in picking up full bags from volunteers and bringing them  back to collection sites at Columbus Square, Capitolo and Gold Star  Park.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Tuesday September 1 the Civic Association will be back from its summer break with a general meeting.  The meeting will be at the SPOAC at Dickinson and Passyunk at 6:30pm.  Come out and hear about the exciting things the board has been working on over this year and the plans for the rest of this year and next.  We will also be talking about the street cleaning program that we kicked of this week.  Plus hear about the new master plan for Gold Star Park presented by Nicole Hostetler.  Also we will be providing recycling buckets and No-Circular stickers to put on your door.</p>
<p>Finally, we are looking for new board members to help us achieve our goals over the next year.  If you are interested in planning events, being a part of town watch, providing outreach to the community or want to help with trash &#038; recycling we would love to see you at the meeting.</p>
