The mission of PSCA is to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhood, preserve the neighborhood’s unique historic character and to promote a cohesive community of residents, businesses and institutions. A new sponsorship program has been developed offering various ways to support PSCA.   From a multi-year commitment at a monetary level that is comfortable to you, to a one time or in-kind donation, the PSCA wants to work with you to help make our community stronger and more vital.

Passyunk Square Civic Association (PSCA) is pleased to present an opportunity to team with us  to promote your business to the local community and beyond.  Founded in 2003, PSCA serves the residents and businesses of the area bounded by Washington Avenue to Tasker Street, from Broad Street to 6th Street. PSCA is a registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit corporation, and is led solely by volunteers, consisting of a 11-member Board of Directors, and hosts monthly public general meetings at the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center at Passyunk and Dickinson. The modest budget of the PSCA is comprised of small grants, residential and business donations, in-kind services, and profits from numerous community events organized by the PSCA, such as our annual plant sale and house tour.

Some of PSCA’s most well-known projects and programs are:

–          Zoning- Reviewing projects at monthly meetings to enable appropriate development in the neighborhood

–          Planning- Engaging the community in planning for the long-term growth our neighborhood

–          Beautification- Planting over 800 trees since 2003, cleaning up vacant lots and supporting local community gardens and art projects

–          Town Watch- Identifying and reporting graffiti, abandoned cars, and other quality of life issues to help prevent crime

–          Trash and Recycling- Managing paid street-cleaning services, conducting volunteer clean-ups and educating the community to fight litter and recycle more

–          Education- Working with local schools to create a better environment for neighborhood children

–          Communications- Engaging the community via email, website, social media and more

–          Events- Organizing community-building events like the Home Tour and Plant Sale each year
