6:30pm at Annunciation Church Hall, 10th and Dickinson

It is hard to believe, but I promise spring will be here before you know it. The May flowers will bring not one but two elections on May 6. That day the City of Philadelphia will hold the Primary Election and the Passyunk Square Civic Association Elections Board of Director elections will take place.

Our General Meeting will have two speakers to help prepare us for both elections:

Dan Pohlig, Chair of the Nomination Committee, will present the PSCA Nomination and Election Process. Nominations will be formally submitted at the April Membership Meeting and the Election will occur at the May Membership Meeting. There are 12 Director positions up for election this year. Serving on the Board is a great way to make your neighborhood a better place while getting to know some great neighbors. Find out more at the meeting! Info will be available on our website starting Wednesday.

Gregg Kravitz, a Deputy Commissioner from the Office of City Commissioner Al Schmidt, will be giving a presentation on the department’s new website, www.philadelphiavotes.com. Gregg will also be available to answer any questions about voting in the upcoming May Primary Election.

We will also have a presenter to give us the inside scoop on the Bike Share program in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is preparing to join other leading cities, including Washington, Boston, Chicago, New York, Denver, Toronto, Montreal, London and Paris, in deploying a bike sharing system that will provide convenient, on-demand access to bicycles for short distance trips. Bike sharing will be an affordable, healthy, safe, environmentally sustainable addition to Philadelphia’s transportation options. Andrew Stober from the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities (and our neighbor) will be here to give us an update on the cities plans.
