Fountain PorterAs we all know our schools are in great need of financial support due to severe budget cuts.  So come join the Passyunk Square Civic Association on Monday, September 23rd from 5 – 8 pm at Fountain Porter for a fundraiser to raise funds for basic school supplies for our neighborhood elementary schools Andrew Jackson and Eliza B. Kirkbride.  For a five dollar donation Fountain Porter is kindly offering an extended happy hour from 5 to 8.  During that time everyone who makes a donation will get a $1.50 off all beers on draft, $1 off of mixed drinks and a 10% discount on food.

Fountain Porter will reserve the back room for the fundraiser.  This is a great opportunity to help support our local school while also getting to meet and mix with your neighbors.

If you can’t make it but would still like to make a donation to support our school drive, click the “Donate” button on the right hand bar of this page and specify “School Supplies” when you check out of Paypal.

Different from the usual house tour, this event provides a showcase of homes in all stages of renovation, giving those who attend a chance to compare contractors, get ideas, and meet neighbors. The event has grown in popularity, with over 180 neighbors and visitors attending in 2009. We expect an even stronger turnout this year and look forward to showcasing the changes and progress in our quickly growing neighborhood since last year.

Proceeds from this event will sponsor activities that beautify the neighborhood and make Passyunk Square a wonderful place to live. Thanks to our fundraising efforts in 2009, we have been able to engage LRC Services to clean and sweep the sidewalks of our major streets. With your support, we hope to continue expanding and funding services such as these in the future.
