Brief Bios of each candidate:

Sarah Anton – Since joining the board in 2012, Sarah has been a crucial member of the community on the Beautification front, running the Passyunk Garden since it came to fruition and sprouted from a Rachel Ray episode.  Sarah has been the Beautification chair for the past several years.  She has also had a hand in several Art projections in the neighborhood, most notably the Electric Street project on Percy Street (located between Passyunk Ave, 9th street, Wharton and Reed Steets).  Sarah has also oversees the Finance committee and has been the PSCA Treasurer, basically since she started with the Board.

Jeff Brown – Since retiring in 2012, Jeff was elected to the Capitolo Community Garden Governance Council and also the Capitolo Playground Advisory Council, which he remains in those two positions to this day.  He also volunteered as a Neighborhood Ambassador in PSCA’s NAP program in 2014 and participated in flashlight patrols. Jeff was elected to the Board in 2015 and initially was chair of the Outreach Committee, which he later chaired the Trash and Recycling Committee. Since May 2016, he has served as the Secretary of PSCA.

Jared Klein – Jared became involved in the community in 2013, where he joined the zoning committee as a member in the fall, and was later elected zoning chair in December of that same year.  He was elected to the PSCA Board of Directors in 2014, and since June of 2016, he has been President of PSCA.

Kristi Buccholz – Kristi is on the steering committee for Gold Star park (since Aug 2015) and has helped with fundraising and park events throughout that time.  She was a committee member for the 2016 PSCA Art Auction and 2016 House Tour.  In 2017, she took the lead and is Chair for the 2017 Art Auction, which will be a terrific event!  Get your tickets now – on sale at http://passyunksquare.ticketleap.compassyunk-square-art-auction-2017/dates/Apr-28-2017_at_0700PM

Monica Montiel – Monica is a first time candidate for the Board of Directors.  She has a strong passion towards keeping our neighborhood streets clean.  Though she has only been a homeowner in this neighborhood for a short time, she has been a resident in and around for several years, and has developed a great deal of pride for the Passyunk Square Civic Association community.  She wants to do whatever she can to clean the streets and educate people on the value of recycling.

Suzanne Tavani – Suzanne is a third generation, life-long resident of the neighborhood. She has been involved with the PSCA for the past five years in a variety of different aspects.  Her main contributions have included the Annual PSCA House Tour and, currently, as a member of the Zoning Committee (PSCA Zoning Committee Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at St. Maron’s Church).  Suzanne is also an active member of St. Maron’s Maronite Catholic Church, which has been a cornerstone of the neighborhood for over 125 years.
